LAUREN KRAVITZ 18  Margaret Rylatt Scholarship

Lauren Kravitz began her dance training at a very young age and has studied many forms of dance, but her main focus has been in the areas of ballet, modern, tap, jazz and contemporary. In 2007, Lauren received the honor of being the first recipient of the Buster Cooper Tap Scholarship and got to tap along side Buster at the Dance Council’s National Tap Day event. Lauren has danced in every National Tap Dance Celebration since then and last year, Lauren was one of the 100 Tappers that helped celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Historic Turtle Creek Water Pump Station.

Lauren is in her junior year at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Since her sophomore year, Lauren has been a member of the BTWHSPVA’s Repertory I Dance Company. After she graduates high school, she plans to attend a university to study dance. Her goal is to have a profession in dance and be a member of a dance company.
