March 16. Dancing Beyond Borders. DBDT: Encore! transcends borders and boundaries in a stunning display of contemporary modern dance. March 22 - 23. Tejas Dance proudly presents ‘mahAmAyA’, an exclusive full-length Bharatanatyam production under the banner of AT&T Performing Art Center’s Elevator Project This theatrical dance production will be brought to life by Bhuvana Venkatraman and Chintan Patel, Artistic Directors, Tejas Dance at the Center’s Annette Strauss Square.

Immerse yourself in the rhythmic pulse of Bharatanatyam where untethered stomps echo through space, intricate expressions weave tales of emotion and enchanting stories come to life. Traverse the mystical journey through inspiring stories, poetry and a brand new score, all intricately woven into the fabric of this storytelling art form.

Step into the heart of India's cultural richness through our pre-event. Engage in interactive workshops on Bharatanatyam, temple architecture, henna art and the timeless elegance of saree draping. This immersive experience sets the stage for a cultural celebration that transcends borders, inviting you to wander through captivating artifacts and textiles that narrate the diverse facets of India's rich heritage. As the night unfolds, Tejas Dance will present ‘mahAmAyA’, where the artistry of Bhuvana and Chintan takes center stage. Prepare to be captivated as the dancers bring to life dramatic narratives with athletic movements, intricate mudras and facial expressions that evoke emotions and tell stories.

This visual treat will serve as a tribute to Indian culture, community and humanity, celebrating the kaleidoscope of traditions, arts and flavors that define the essence of India.

March 24. In celebration of their 25th anniversary, Natyanjali Kuchipudi Dance School presents Kalyana Srinivasam, an opulent Kuchipudi dance drama (Indian Classical Dance theater production). Hand-pounded fresh turmeric… Fragrant strands of freshly
bloomed flowers… The atmosphere is brimming with celebration, in anticipation of the wedding of the Divine couple, Princess Padmavati and Lord Srinivasa. Originally choreographed in the 1980s by the late Padma Shree Dr. Sobha Naidu, and thoughtfully reimagined and directed by Smt. Srilatha Suri, the artistic director of Natyanjali, Kalyana Srinivsam is a masterpiece of dance, theater, and music, woven seamlessly like an impeccable tapestry. Adhering to authentic Kuchipudi style, using exquisite costumes and incorporating hand-painted props, the history of the Lord of the Seven Hills is brought to life. This highly anticipated production, with a carefully selected cast of talented students and alumni of Natyanjali (including Smt. Pranamya Suri, Kum. March 29 - 30. Women’s Choreography Project. Avant Chamber Ballet
presents an exciting evening of world premieres and commissions with live music in an intimate setting that lets you experience dance up close and meet the artists after the performance. March 30. Eisemann Center
presents Contemporary West Dance Theatre, a multicultural nonprofit organization that was founded by Alvin Ailey protege Bernard H. Gaddis and Charmaine Hunter. The company has a dance methodology that integrates classical and modern paradigms with an athleticism that gives audiences a more profound dance experience.
