SUMMER FIASCHETTI 14  Glenda Brown Scholarship 

Summer Fiaschetti began her dance studies at age three in Glen Burnie, Maryland because she was so pigeon toed she could not run without tripping over her feet. Later, at Edna Lee Dance Studio she focused on ballet under the direction of the Canterna sisters. Ashley Canterna, Summer's core teacher, inspired her to follow her dance dreams. She was able to meet and take classes from many well-known figures in dance such as Rasta Thomas, Travis Wall, Benji Schwimmer, Adrianne Canterna, Robbie Nicholson, and Alicia Canterna while training at Edna Lee.

Summer moved to Texas in August 2008 and auditioned for Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in 2009. The school has taught her how to use her emotions while stressing technique.

Summer embraces the saying, “Dance like no one is watching.” She hopes to one day pursue a dance career where she can share her passion for dance. Dance is what she will always love and will seek every opportunity possible to reach her dreams.
