May 3. Chamberlain Ballet presents 40th Anniversary Celebration – The Past, The Present, The Future. A wonderful evening of dance awaits as the full Chamberlain Ballet Company celebrates this milestone occasion with three works representing their journey over the last 40 years and looking ahead to the next 40 years. The Past - Coppelia Act III. Coppelia was the first full length work performed by Chamberlain Ballet in 1997. Act III is full of joy with the village celebrating the nuptials of Swanhilda and Franz. The Present – Swan Lake Act II. Kathy Chamberlain has longed to stage her favorite ballet on Chamberlain Ballet for many years. The White Swan act is a scene of ethereal beauty set under moonlight at the side of the lake. Featuring Principal Guest Artists from ABT & NYCB Hee Seo ~ Odette and Tyler Angle ~ Siegfried. The Future – Digital Ghost. Digital Ghost has been specially commissioned to celebrate the next 40 years of Chamberlain Ballet. May 17 & 18. Join imPULSE dance project for another IMMERSIVE dance EXPERIENCE as they premiere their newest creation SANCTUARY. Located at Arts Mission Oak Cliff, this work is inspired by the performance space itself. With the stained-glass windows, and classic, quaint reimagined chapel this evening length project explores ideas of safety, security, and refuge. The work asks questions like, where do you go for safety? What makes you feel secure? And in what/Whom do you take refuge? Three choreographers explore these ideas and questions through the Art of Dance, taking our viewers on an interactive journey through the Sanctuary. Don’t miss this unique, and profound performance.
