This past summer has been busy, fun-filled, and an amazing experience in my Dance world. None of this would even be possible without the Dance Council and the Dallas Summer musicals scholarship. I cannot thank you enough for this experience and all that I have learned this summer. Before this summer I was in love with dance but with the scholarship the dance council gave me, I also fell in love with performing, acting, and singing. When the intensive started It was nothing like I expected (but in a good way)! We did cold readings, dance auditions, and sang for our new teachers. So they could put us into three different levels, and let me tell you I was so nervous. I was placed in the most advanced levels for dancing, acting, and singing. I was astounded at how many amazing actors, dancers and singers there were and when I received my placement in the advanced group, with only seven other people,  I  discovered I was the youngest one. My nickname became Little Bit and that’s when I finally realized that I may be one of those talented people too. So not only did this intensive improve my singing, dancing and acting skills, it boosted my self esteem and confidence so much. This year I took theater at school but I learned more from Mikey Abrams in one acting class then I did all year. I was amazed at all the acting terminology I didn’t know. One thing I really liked was at the intensive our dance teacher Laurie and our pianist set up a mock audition. They told us what kind of music to sing , how to act and how to properly prepare yourself so you have as much confidence  going in as when you go out.   So once again thank you so much for this opportunity to grow and learn more about the thing I absolutely love.
