BAILEY ANGLIN 16  Joyce Seaborne Bader Memorial Scholarship

Bailey is a sophomore at Loyola College Prep in Shreveport, LA. and has studied dance at Carol Anglin Dancenter since age 3. Growing up with two older brothers who also danced in a studio full of beautiful dancers, she could not wait until she was old enough to become a member of her mom’s dance company, Louisiana Dance Theatre, an Honor Company of Regional Dance America/SW.

Bailey went with her mom to the studio every day and loved watching the ‘older girls’ – and guys – in their classes and rehearsals. Even though she was too young to take company classes or perform – from the time she was born – Bailey traveled with Louisiana Dance Theatre on every trip they took to Regional Dance America/SW & National Festivals, Jazz Dance World Congresses (Chicago & Washington, D.C.), Joe Tremaine Conventions, and the Tanzsommer Dance Festival in Innsbruck, Austria.

She thinks being around so many fine, hard-working dancers inspired Bailey to develop a strong work ethic. She always understood ‘the big picture’ and knew that, if she was ever going to be as good as her predecessors, she would have to work diligently in classes and rehearsals.

Bailey is excited that that she has been chosen by her company to perform at Regional Dance America’s performance at the 2010 International Ballet Competition in Jackson, MS in June. She is one of 27 dancers who will represent RDA’s Southwest Region at the IBC.

Bailey loves to dance. She wants to be the best she can be. She loves performing and bringing joy to others through the art of dance.
