Nathan Vendt
is seventeen years old and has only been dancing three years. Now he takes seven ballet technique classes, two men’s technique classes, a partnering class, and one class each in Jazz, Modern, and Hip Hop, per week, all at the Ballet Academy of Texas in Coppell.
Nathan is also a company member of Ballet Ensemble of Texas.

Nathan will attend the 2011 American Ballet Theater summer intensive in Austin. His goal is to grow as a dancer and perfect his craft over the next few years.
.......................................................

My experience at the American Ballet Theater Summer Intensive in Austin was both enlightening and progressive. I progressed in my jumps, turns, balance, and strength. I received many corrections from important teachers, such as, Wes Chapman and Roger Van Fleteren, which improved everything from my technique to my performance.  However, the best experience was when the teachers and guest artists told us their stories. I now understand what it would be like to become a professional dancer and also what it takes to get a job. I learned of the necessary sacrifices to survive in the world as a professional dancer. Finally, I learned that things may not work out the way you planned and that your dreams and goals may change additionally. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my American Ballet Theater experience, and am grateful that I was able to go with the help of the George Skibine Scholarship.
