Performance Calendar October 2017

October 20.
The Arts Collective at Eastfield College, in collaboration with the Galleries at Eastfield College and the Dance Department, are excited to present a performance by interdisciplinary artist Brandon Gonzalez, for one-night only. Body Textures is a multimedia performance involving dance, video, and found objects. In the performance, Mr. Gonzalez will explore how corporeal perceptions, physical performance, and video manipulation can result in the discovery of new textures and tensions between the body and the space it inhabits. He views the body as a “sensing sculpture,” connected to world, continually in flux and responding to change. Through the performing body, objects in his installation become supporting actors, blurring the border between flesh and thing.

Eastfield College is proud to be the first college to be presenting both Mr. Gonzalez visual art and performing art work. We are also the first college in the Dallas County Community College District to present a dance work of this nature.
7:00pm. Eastfield College Performance Hall (F Building), 3737 Motley Drive, Mesquite, TX 75150. Opening Reception at 6:30pm. FREE. Danielle Georgiou, 972-860-7036
